Kevin's Side of the Dish

Today I am reviewing House of Jerky’s Ghost Pepper Beef Jerky. I loved this since the first bite I got from it.

Ingredients:
Beef (top round), soy sauce, brown sugar, pineapple juice, honey, water, tabasco sauce, ghost chili pepper (bhut jolokia), garlic, red chili pepper, onion, liquid smoke, white pepper, black pepper, ginger.

Review:
The appearance of this jerky made my mouth water. It looks like a normal piece of brown jerky; but if you observe it closely, it looks like it is covered in seasoning.

The jerky smelled of chili pepper, beef and teriyaki sauce. It felt like a “normal” piece of jerky – hard, yet tender. It tasted in a way that caused me to want more of it. It tasted like a piece of teriyaki jerky with some brown sugar.

I would give this a 1 out of 5 for the heat level. It makes of big burst of heat at first which goes away over time. To me, it didn’t seem hot. To my dad, he told me it was really hot. Overall, I would give this a 4.5 out of 5. I love jerky, but the only difference I can see between this and normal jerky is the heat and the aroma.
